Founding Principal
From 2011 to 2018, Reen established herself as a leader within Tennessee State Government. Serving within the executive branch, she focused on establishing direction, developing strategies, increasing customer service, reducing taxpayer costs, and creating short-term and long-term goals which resulted in transformative change for the state of Tennessee. She served her last year on Governor Bill Haslam’s senior leadership team, as Director of Communications.
Reen first served the citizens as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer for the Department of General Services, where she effectively led collaborative, enterprise-wide initiatives that incorporated private-sector best practices into state government including: Customer Focused Government goals, Master Planning, Facility Assessment & Facility Management improvements, and Transforming Tennessee for Tomorrow (Project T3).
During her time in Tennessee State Government, Reen developed the State of Tennessee’s Alternative Workplace Solutions (AWS) initiative, where she became the state’s first Director of Alternative Workplace Solutions, leading its strategic implementation throughout multiple state agencies, producing significantly successful outcomes, and paving the way for the services Reen and her team continue to provide today.
Reen founded Baskin Strategies in 2018 with the goal of benefiting states, municipalities and private organizations with Leading Work Solutions. Since its inception, Reen and her colleagues have had the priveledge of re-imaginging flexible work opportunities for employees, recommending square footage needs, modernizing workspaces, and providing organizational improvements for large and small multi-purpose organizations across the Southeast.
Prior to her service with the State of Tennessee, Reen was an Associate Attorney with Farris Mathews Bobango, PLC in Nashville. Reen was honored in 2011 as one of Nashville’s Top 30 Under 30 Honorees, and in 2017 as one of Nashville’s Top 40 Under 40 Award Recipients.
If Reen is not on a client worksite, you will find her working out at Pure Barre, enjoying sushi at Virago, cheering on the VOLS, or applauding from the sidelines of a youth sporting event. Her greatest joys in life are her family, her friends and her very dependant cavapoo, who continue to motivate her drive for organizational work life balance.
